This amazing church is one of the Trust's most lively examples of Victorian architecture. It was built in 1866 by Henry Conybeare, brother of the vicar at that time, and is approached from the road up a steep path. The imposing nature of the building is immediately apparent, it is apsidal, very lofty and clearly influenced by the Sainte Chapelle in Paris. The cast-iron tracery in the pulpit, the stained glass, the panels of the pews and the font make an outstandingly complete composition.
